DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Lead the planning and execution of community and cultural projects, with a focus on facilities requiring specialized architectural typologies and detailing. In this role, the candidate will manage project schedules, coordinate resources, and ensure all work meets internal quality management standards (ISO 9001:2015) and local building codes.

  • Develop and manage design work plans that integrate project scope, requirements, and milestone schedules with budgets and multidisciplinary staffing needs.  
  • Track design project milestones and audit the progress of deliverables, performing QA/QC reviews to ensure adherence to the schedule and quality standards.  
  • Monitor billable utilization against allocated hours for team members assigned to the design project, identifying potential budget discrepancies. 
  • Liaise with clients and project collaborators to define project needs and goals, specifically programmatic requirements, design intent, and budgetary constraints. 
  • Lead interdisciplinary coordination meetings to identify conflicts and design issues, collaborating with the production team and consultants to develop solutions that maintain project momentum.  
  • Organize meetings with project collaborators, including clients, consultants, AHJs, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring coordination, alignment, and effective information exchange. 
  • Provide management with regular design project updates that include fiscal health, design challenges, client feedback, and resource availability.  
  • Synthesize design project milestone progress into comprehensive reports and presentations for distribution to project collaborators, including clients, the design team, and management. 
  • Provide guidance and assist drafting staff involved in preparing designs and drawings. 
  • Assist the project team in interpreting building codes, site requirements, and technical documentation, guiding the evaluation of design options and their impact. 
  • Prepare and oversee pre-design services, including feasibility studies, utilizing CAD and AI tools to analyze spatial constraints and ordinances. 
  • Design and oversee the development of sustainable buildings, utilizing analysis tools for daylighting, envelope performance, and wind simulation.  
  • Generate 2D drawings and 3D models efficiently using computer-aided design (CAD) software or other drafting tools.  
  • Coordinate the preparation and issuance of design documents and technical specifications, managing the distribution of permit sets, bid packages, and construction bulletins to ensure all collaborators are working from the current revision of record.  
  • Follow the standards, instructions, and procedures, consistent with the design specifications, best practices and company standards.  
  • Facilitate the selection of sub-consultants and material vendors, evaluating qualifications and product specifications to verify compliance with project requirements, design intent, and budgetary constrains.  
  • Support and participate in the organizations Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.  
  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities among design team members, including designers and BIM specialists, ensuring efficient resource distribution and consistent quality throughout the project lifecycle.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field and 24 months of experience in Construction project management or related occupation.  
  • Must have 2 years of experience producing and quality-checking BIM models and 2D drawing sets using Revit and AutoCAD, including floor plans and elevations. 
  • Must have 1 year of experience managing design workflows using the cloud-based construction/project collaboration platform, Autodesk Construction Cloud, including preparing meeting agendas/minutes, assigning tasks, and tracking RFIs/submittals. 
  • Must have 1 year of experience supporting the planning and documentation of at least one cultural or civic facility project that included, dome structures, geometric patterning, directional assembly spaces, or similar architectural features, including coordinating specialty input and translating requirements into drawings/models. 
  • Must have 1 year of experience utilizing AI-powered generative design or feasibility software – TestFit, Snaptrude, Zenerate – to conduct rapid site analysis, massing studies, and yield verification. 
  • Must have 1 year of experience in early-stage planning using Autodesk Forma to create and evaluate conceptual site/massing alternatives for building projects, including documenting basic planning assumptions (e.g., site constraints, program targets, and stakeholder requirements) and exporting materials for internal/client review.  

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Up to 5% domestic travel may be required.
